Piggies 2021

2021 was the year we brought pigs back to the farm! When the farm was part of a bigger farm, pigs were what the farmer had on our part of the land.

When it was sold off, the previous owner kept cattle on it, so it was nice to be able to bring back pigs after all this time.

We originally only started with two pietrain x Berkshire piglets..... within two weeks we introduced another two pietrains. Pigs are fascinating animals to watch and be with. The piglets were great fun, the children enjoyed playing with them while they were tiny, hand feeding them and brushing them.

During the wettest summer on record, the pigs were delighted to be able to roll in mud, basking in the sun and running in the rain. Pigs doing what pigs should do!
